3 weeks

I'm 3 weeks into this weight watchers thing. I've been going to the gym every day except Sundays. I think I'm doing alright. I feel like I have more strength in my arms and legs and my lungs are working better with the jogging. I am sticking to it.
I'm also doing a Book of Mormon challenge that our bishop gave us in my ward.
I'm working on my life right now. Physical and Spiritual. This year is for me.

You go girl. I am right behind you.

Please make sure that you are doing things you like and things that you WANT to do. I mean no one loves to exercise all the time, but don't do things you dread before, during and after. It's not likely you'll stick with them very long.

If you are interested in riding bikes at all I am participating in several long bike rides this year. I find that if I am training for something specific it's more motivating to exercise. It takes the focus of weight loss and puts it toward preparing for the event (whatever it is). I have found weight loss to be a byproduct of training for an event.

I am doing the the Diabetes Tour-de-Cure and the Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride both in June. There is also another great bike race called the Little Red Ridinghood bike ride. Its for women only. There are lots of good running races too. They are everywhere. Just be careful with your knees though. If you break them, they don't get better.

Also look into swimming. That's my favorite and best sport right now. I go to a Master's Swim class (that's a fancy term for adult swimming lessons). I never thought of myself as a swimmer, but after swimming two years now I can swim a mile in about 33 minutes.

Anyway...my main message is that I am super proud of you. You can, will and must do this. Just make sure you are enjoying this transition. I want you to stick with it for a long time. Like forever. I am 4 years strong into this and I never dreamed I could look and feel so good. I am doing only things I WANT to do.

Sorry for being so wordy.

Keep going Kjersty! We can whip this physical body and strengthen our spiritual one to master it. Amazing how they go together isn't it. Love you so much, keep up the blogging so we can help each other.
